Originally released this summer but new to Netflix, "Kung Fury" is a welcome blast to and from the past. This short, action-packed parody has more '80s-centric details than you can fit into a DeLorean.Deliberate VHS image quality and over-the-top, arcade-style effects? Check. Melodramatic dialogue and period-specific choices, right down to the fonts and title screens? Check. The authentic original soundtrack (with a contribution from David Hasselhoff, no less) literally sounds like it was sent to us from the past. Possibly the best 30 minutes you'll see this year!
